This project combines an aggressive and dramatic desert hillside site, with a dynamic architectural design. The interiors, as conceived and executed by DMMA, were integrated with the building itself. The material palette is relative to the desert site on which the house was built. Bold rock outcroppings and angular desert vegetation on this site inspired much of the design vocabulary for both the architecture and interiors. Furnishings and finishes were selected to harmonize with the building, along with supporting the client’s desire to have a rich and warm home for family and entertaining. Special design features were created for the clients to display their varied paintings and art objects. The completed project is dramatic and timeless.
