Handsome Contemporary Hillside

This project involved a complete remodeling of a mid-1980’s international style masonry house, originally designed by Arizona architect Ned Sawyer. The house required a complete renovation, including changes to the basic building space plan, as well as a complete change of all finish materials within the house. In the remodel, the original minimalist design was used to its optimal advantage, and retained all of the original masonry material language. For the remodeling of the project, rich and warm materials were added to make the interiors relaxed, warm and inviting. The original architectural design framed the panoramic desert views beautifully, and now the interiors support the dramatic views and architectural transparency of the home. The house is at once warm and livable, as well as being modern and clean.
