This newly built home, set in a golf community in North Scottsdale, Arizona, is a lovely example of a restrained architectural design, with interiors that are also tailored, simple and classic. An eclectic mix of new and old furnishings intertwine to create a comfortable and inviting home for its owner. The quality of light through steel sash windows and doors, animate interior living spaces. The interior finishes and millwork treatments are intended to be stylistically durable, and gently vary from space to space. The classic rural mediterranean style context of the house marries well to its Sonoran desert views and rough terrain. The client’s tastes and the designers tastes are well aligned in this project. The client and designer both desired to create an interior that is timeless and unique, and the success of their collaboration is evident.
